Are You Being Noticed by The Interviewers?
All of us are judged the moment we are in front of the interview panel. You wouldn’t have noticed it, but, you are gauged. The first impression is already made even before the interview process begins. Wondering, what could be the things that are noticed by the interviewers? Here goes the list:
Your Arrival Time
Time and again it has been repeated that one shouldn’t be late for the interview. And, the rule still stands the same. Leave your place early and be on time. You will not only create a good impression but will also save the panel’s time.
Dress Code
Your dressing sense reflects your personality. If you are shabbily dressed, you end up creating a negative impression. Dress for the occasion. Accessorize less. Comb your hair and wear a smile. Your confidence also matters a lot.
Your Communication Style
If you are in a hurry to answer the question, either you are too nervous or have another appointment. Do not speak too fast, think and answer. Be slow with your tone, but, be audible. Do not take too long to answer and do not try to cover up for things that you have accidentally revealed. Justify, only if it is required.
Your Preparedness
It is better to find out about the company’s mission, vision products, services, year of establishment, branches, clientele and other such necessary details. You may not be asked directly, but there could be indirect questions related to it. You can impress the panel by showing your keenness about joining the company.
Your Enthusiasm
You shouldn’t present as though it is just another interview. Show interest in your interview process, but, do not be too desperate for the job.
Your Qualifications
The interviewers will definitely have a look at your qualification. This is the first criterion before proceeding further. Present all the necessary documents if asked for. If you have taken up an additional certification course, you can speak about it. Do not be rejected for being overqualified or underqualified.
Your body language
Heard of nonverbal communication? It is more powerful than words and you are judged based upon it. If you are stressed and tensed, no matter how much you try to hide it, your body language will reflect it.
Hope this article has been useful to you. Do not go to an interview with an assumption. Be clear and be prepared to be grilled.
